Artist Statement:
For Shannon Meadows, the studio is a place of passion and discovery—her “secret lover” where she eagerly spends most of her days and weekends creating. Her art aims to distill the essence of a subject, capturing the nuances of the human condition, the immediacy of plein air scenes, or the mood of a moment from a photograph. Through her work, she seeks to inspire viewers to see beauty in the everyday, inviting them to look more closely and discover the world with renewed appreciation.

Bio:
Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Shannon Meadows holds a degree in Painting and Drawing from the University of Kentucky and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Now based in Marietta, Georgia, she works out of her studio at the Artisan’s Resource Center. With a background in teaching foundations at the Art Institute of Atlanta, Meadows brings both technical skill and emotional depth to her art. Her work spans life drawing, plein air painting, and visual storytelling inspired by photographs, always aiming to evoke the beauty of daily life.
