Artist Statement:
Yibo Wan’s piece, Night Germinates Tears’ Seeds, captures a poignant sense of connection between the self and the vastness of the urban landscape. The artwork reflects the quiet moment of a single tear merging into the night, dissolving boundaries and symbolizing unity with the world. Displayed as a large-format poster, it invites passersby to pause and reflect, reminding them of the delicate links between individual and collective experience. Bio:
Yibo Wan (b.1999) is a Chinese multidisciplinary artist based in London, whose work spans moving image, visual art, and jewellery design. After earning her degree in Moving Image from the University of Liverpool in 2017, she completed her MA in Jewellery & Metal at the Royal College of Art. Yibo’s practice combines a core narrative approach with abstraction, often focusing on the intricate relationship between human emotion, perception, and physical environment. Her immersive moving image works draw viewers into layered, contemplative spaces, where emotions unfold subtly, exploring psychological landscapes through rich visual forms.
