What inspired your winning piece, Hybrid Bloom?
“Hybrid Bloom is part of a series I began in 2022 while exploring the creative possibilities of AI. It’s a taxonomy of improbable beings—hybrids born from the fusion of different biological species that thrive in darkness. For me, it’s a celebration of the beauty of mixture and the incredible power of resilience.
I see cities as hybrid ecosystems where the organic and synthetic are in constant interaction. This piece draws on those dynamics, using a post-human lens to explore how we can reconnect with nature while addressing ecological concerns. The resilience and diversity of urban life inspire me to create art that reflects both the challenges and possibilities of coexistence.”
What was the journey of creating this piece like?
“This piece emerged from my ongoing exploration of the hybrid. Over time, it’s evolved into a series of non-human beings capable of thriving in even the most difficult environments.
The journey was about finding a balance between the scientific and the imaginative. Each element of the piece needed to feel plausible yet surreal, challenging viewers to rethink their relationship with their surroundings. The most rewarding part was seeing how these improbable beings came to life, becoming symbols of adaptation and strength.”
How does your work embody the spirit of the 2.5 Urban Initiative?
“The essence of the 2.5 Urban Initiative is celebrating diversity and reimagining public spaces as places of imagination and introspection. My work reflects this by showcasing how distinct identities and perspectives can coexist, transforming familiar spaces into platforms for dialogue and creativity.”
How has your art evolved, and what does this piece reflect about your growth as an artist?
“My art has grown from abstract explorations into concept-driven work that merges personal symbolism with broader, universal themes. This piece, in particular, reflects my growth in terms of narrative depth and technical skill.
Previously, I focused on themes like symbiosis and interspecies communication. With Hybrid Bloom, I’ve shifted to exploring hybridization and night blooms as metaphors for coexistence, adaptation, and resilience. It’s a more focused and nuanced evolution of my earlier work.”
What advice would you give to aspiring artists, especially those exploring urban themes?
“I would encourage new artists to focus on authenticity. Urban themes are powerful, but they must come from a personal place to feel genuine. Art has the potential to transform spaces and connect communities, but it’s staying true to your own vision that makes that impact last.
Patience is another key lesson. Art is often unpredictable, and each step teaches you something valuable. Collaboration is also important—working with others can inspire ideas and open you up to perspectives you might not have considered.”
What’s next for you after this project?
“I’m eager to explore more concepts that challenge the relationship between natural and urban elements. Site-specific installations in public spaces are a direction I’d like to delve into further.
One of the most inspiring aspects of the 2.5 Urban Initiative is how it reimagines public spaces as interactive galleries. I’d love to incorporate this approach into my future work, creating immersive art that encourages people to slow down and see their surroundings in new ways.”

“Winning this award is incredibly validating. It’s a reminder of why I create art in the first place—to provoke thought, inspire wonder, and spark meaningful conversations within the community.
It’s also an opportunity to connect with like-minded creatives and continue pushing boundaries. Being part of this initiative has inspired me to further explore how art can transform urban spaces.”
How do you see your role in inspiring the next wave of urban artists?
“I hope my work encourages other artists to view public spaces as blank canvases for storytelling. Urban art shapes how we perceive and interact with our environment. My goal is to inspire others to see their voices as integral to these spaces, pushing boundaries and bringing fresh perspectives into the everyday.”
