This Week’s Short of the Week: SumarsólstöðurInsects Directed by Amélie Ravalec

This week, Chroma Art Film Festival proudly spotlights Sumarsólstöður, a breathtaking exploration of art, history, and the delicate balance between creativity and destruction. Directed by the visionary Amélie Ravalec, this mesmerizing short film takes us on a cosmic journey where dreams, art, and reality collide.

The Story

Miho, a Japanese art researcher, begins experiencing vivid dreams that pull her into another dimension. These dreams unveil the Architecture, a cosmic force that guides planetary evolution. As environmental and historical traumas intertwine, artists across the globe find themselves united by their connection to beings called Synesthetes. Together, they embark on a desperate mission to heal a disrupted universe, channeling their creativity into a final performance to reshape reality.

In a world where the line between dream and reality fades, the film asks: Is this an epic cosmic battle or merely a fantastical illusion? Either way, after this journey, nothing will ever be the same.
