‘Legado’ by Eric Limarenko

This week, Chroma Art Film Festival proudly features Legado, a visually stunning animated tribute to surrealism and imagination. Directed by Eric Limarenko, Legado is a celebration of the unlikely yet iconic friendship between the worlds of Salvador Dalí and Walt Disney, brought to life through a muse’s magical encounter with a hummingbird.

At its heart, Legado explores the legacy of these artistic giants and their collaboration that culminated in the 2003 surrealist animated short film, Destino. Through mesmerizing visuals and whimsical storytelling, this short film is a love letter to surrealism and its timeless influence on art and cinema.

Film Overview

Legado transports audiences into a dreamlike world, where reality and fantasy collide. The hummingbird serves as a guide, unveiling the artistic legacies of two of the world’s greatest visionaries: Salvador Dalí’s surreal landscapes and Walt Disney’s enchanting storytelling. The film pays homage to their groundbreaking collaboration while inviting viewers to reimagine what art can achieve when boundaries are dissolved.
