Director Biography: Mathery

Mathery is the artistic alias of Erika Zorzi and Matteo Sangalli, a one-of-a-kind Italian directing duo with a foundation in design and photography. Currently splitting time between Milan and Brooklyn, their work transforms everyday absurdity into abstract, color-rich cinematic worlds.

Their practice bridges film, photography, space, and object design, with projects ranging from personal explorations to commercial campaigns. Having worked across Australia, Asia, and Europe, Mathery’s work is known for its unmistakable art direction, irony, and tongue-in-cheek narrative style. With every frame, they reimagine reality as we know it—into something just slightly off, and completely unforgettable.
