“Eclipse”
Director:Aabha Sewak
Film: Eclipse
Bio: My mixed-media thesis animation titled “Eclipse” features the Sun, who oversleeps and is late for the eclipse. She is accompanied by the Moon on her undulating journey to reach her final destination. The stability of their world hangs in balance as they glitch due to the delay in cosmic events. This open-ended animation asks: will the eclipse ever happen?

My name is Aabha Sewak, and I am a part of the Illustration BFA program, class of 2024 at Parsons School of Design. I have lived across India, Paris and New York, instilling in me a keen sense of observation of the environment and design around me. Building alternative realities sets the foreground for my art, and allows me to add narrative as an additional flavor and characters as toppings. My main focus is creating animations, prints and illustrations to investigate the themes of natural and physical realms. I usually work with digital media (between 2D and 3D software) and my process is interdisciplinary. My work explores technology as a medium and its limits as an art form, but also its ability to grow, adapt and transform in relation to the moving image.
