“Doux temps”
Director: Caio Amon
Film: Doux temps
Bio: A short music film set to classical music from Québec and filmed in a colourful, cinematic style, “Doux temps” (Sweet Times) explores the sharp contrast between, on the one hand, the somewhat routine daily lives of four characters and, on the other, the lyrical sweep of words and music that evoke the amorous passions of the ‘sweet days’ of youth.
Looking at the camera and dubbing the soprano’s singing, each character is gradually swept away by these blissful memories that awaken a sense of jauntiness and euphoria.
Funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, Doux temps is a North-South collaboration between Brazilian filmmaker Caio Amon, and Canadian pianist Marc Bourdeau who is joined by soprano Jacqueline Woodley.
